only the french :)

"Quidam: a nameless passer-by, a solitary figure lingering on a street corner, a person rushing past. it could be anyone, anybody. someone coming, going, living in our anonymous society. a member of the crowd, one of the silent majority. the one who cries out, sings and dreams within us all. this is the "quidam" that Cirque du Soleil is celebrating."

i admit i am envious of quidam (seriously, someone please tell me how to use this word), because i had wanted to leave this island and be unknown for a while. but i realise i can be nobody anywhere, leaving the country does not change who i am.

anyway, quidam was quite exciting! hon and jen and i adventured, to the end of rochor road, in a cab heh. rich colours, heavy makeup, skintight costumes showing off every muscle that i cannot remember. i can't believe how they managed to defy gravity, stay up in the air so long, manipulate the ropes/metal cages/toys they had to such perfection, bend their bodies so effortlessly (and flex our imagination too), and move with such grace and fluidity. and how everything was So Possible. and omg the score/soundtrack is mindblowing, damn i should've bought it. what an amazing show :D

i know why this is so captivating now. the pictures just say it all. yet, the energy!! is kinda missing. the performers were so alive!! they made me wanna do all the stunts haha.

one of the first few acts. the performer totally caught my breath and just made my eyes widen (you should know that i have VERY small eyes) the german wheel is so funky, and the guy reminds me of johnny depp haha!! =p
